A seal is a device that is used simply for preventing leakage, containing pressure or maintaining a vacuum. Seals can be static, rotating or reciprocal. At Continental we will provide data and other information to assist in selecting the most appropriate elastomer for your application.

Custom Molded

Custom molded seals of every description, for a wide variety of applications, from a wide range of base polymers.

Oil Seals

Oil and grease seals have a flexible lip that rubs against a shaft or housing to prevent the leakage or ingress of fluids and dirt. For proper installation, the seal lip should point towards the medium being contained. Some seals have a spring to help keep the lip in contact with the shaft.

Valve Stem

Valve stem seals play a critical role in controlling valve lubrication as well as oil consumption.

Gaskets are used to prevent fluid or gas leaks by providing a barrier between two mating surfaces. The gasket must be able to maintain a seal under pressure and temperature changes.A number of different gaskets are available: pre-cut compression (flat or extruded style), formed-in-place, and cured-in-place. Some gaskets can also be used to shield against electromagnetic and radio frequency interference.

Wire Seals

It seals a flat cable or flex circuit and most flex circuits are custom designed while most any commercial flat cable feed-thrus can be specified if it fits the desired bulkhead housing.

Square Cuts / Washers

A Square-Ring is a sealing device made in the form of a torus, with a square shaped cross-section. It is available in a variety of electrometric and thermoplastic materials. In most static applications, it is a direct replacement for an O-Ring and generally will perform a high-pressure gasketing function as well as or better than an O-Ring.

Lathe Cut

A lathe cut seal or square ring is a circular sealing device made with a square or rectangular shaped cross section & is a direct replacement for O-Rings.

Retaining Rings

A retaining ring is a fastener that holds components or assemblies onto a shaft or in a housing/bore when installed in a groove.
